Bishoftu MTE School was begun in the Ethiopian town of Debre Zeit in 2006 by local social workers to provide care and schooling for the poorest children who would otherwise not be able to attend school. There are now 550 children in the school with plans to increase to 600. These are orphaned or impoverished children from age 5 to 15 and from nursery class to class 6 in school.

Bishoftu Project ~ How you can help

1. Child sponsorship – links an Ethiopian child with a family. The family donates a regular monthly contribution of 20 euros and the Ethiopian child and the family exchange letters and photos. This gives the child the feeling that someone cares about them, while at the same time, helping to pay for the costs of providing the children with nutritious school food and some preventative medical care. More information on page Sponsor a childmore-details.

2. For those who prefer to give a one time only gift to the project, donations will also be used to help provide food and schooling for the children and to operate the clinic to provide health care for the children and their families.
